CAREER EXPLORATION DAY
For information see Mr. Heiss
In place of the previous Career Awareness Program, we are presenting each Junior with the opportunity to spend one day during the school year at a career placement of his choice. This will be done on a voluntary and individual basis. Here is what needs to be done:
The student and/or parent makes the arrangement with the career sponsor.
The student obtains a "Career Exploration" form by either clicking here or from Mrs. Krystopolski in the Guidance Department, which must then be turned in no later than one day prior to the visit.
The student completes the form, stating the day to be taken, the place and person to be contacted, and include a brief description of the experience.
The parent needs to sign the form.
The student obtains teacher signatures for the classes to be missed.
The student obtains Mr. Heiss's signature then takes the form to Mrs. Looney in the Main Office, who enters this into the attendance records. The student then turns in the form to Mrs. K in the Guidance Department and acquires a response form to be after the Career Exploration experience.
The student returns the response form to Mr. Heiss within one cycle following his visit. Failure to return the form in this time frame will result with detention.
*** The students will be permitted to take this opportunity from the beginning of October until the end of March. The format to be followed is similar to that of a college visit. ***
