FRESHMAN YEAR

    EXCITEMENT        FUN        THRILLS

        Freshman year can be filled with more EXCITEMENT than you have ever seen.  From the first day of school to the first dance, you'll experience a whole new beginning which brings along the excitement of "growing up". You will meet new classmates from 4 different states who are in "your" situation.  They are feeling the same things you are feeling. 

        The FUN begins when you want it to.  Salesianum encourages all students to get involved with activities from Day 1.  Class can be fun (depending on your definition of fun) but we like to have everyone doing something.  So, whether you like athletics, theatre, writing, drawing, debating (and we know many students who like to debate!), or performing kind acts of service, Salesianum offers many activities that are open to all students.  It's up to you to pick one or more activities and enjoy them.  Not only do activities help "develop the whole person", but colleges and universities like to see students who are actively involved!  Getting involved early in your high school career will strengthen your attachment to Sallies, form strong friendships, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

        Did you ever think that high school could be THRILLING??? 

• Play your music in front of the entire school at our annual "Battle of the Bands". 

• Talk to the freshmen who earned a spot on the JV or Varsity teams in their respective sports so far this year 

• Finish among the top students in the state as a freshmen in the State Math League.  These guys are good!

• Travel with the Model United Nations team as they compete and earn NATIONAL honors.  Several freshmen will win "Outstanding Delegation" awards (as many did last year).

• Act, sing and/or dance on one of Delaware's largest high school stages in front of hundreds of people.

• Dance with over 1,200 students at your first high school dance 

• Win National Awards for your writing in our Newspaper and Yearbook.

• Receive state-wide recognition for your musical talents.

• March with our Marching Band in parades up and down the East Coast.

• Dive into the freezing Atlantic Ocean with your classmates at the Polar Bear Plunge.

• Be nominated to the Military Service Academies.

• Earn over $11 million dollars in college scholarships and grants with your fellow classmates during your senior year..

    All this is part of Salesianum.  And there is so much more!  It's your turn to add to this list of thrills!
