On August 30th, the faculty continued its work on the “State of the School” report for our reaccreditation process. “State of the School” is a comprehensive study of all aspects of Salesianum’s life that will help our Validation Team (the panel of outside educators that actually does the evaluation in the fall of 2005) understand who we are. This study will be complete by December 2004.
The Validating the Vision Planning Committee, made up of representatives of all of Salesianum’s constituent groups (students, faculty, administration, parents, alumni, trustees, Oblates of Saint Francis de Sales, local educators), has also been hard at work. They too met on August 30th. At this meeting they began drafting a revised Mission Statement, and also finalized plans for a “long meeting” on Sunday, September 26th. This latter meeting will produce a final set of “Foundation Documents.” These documents (Belief Statements, Mission Statement, Parameters, Graduate Profile) describe in short but powerful statements who we are and what we hope to achieve as a school community. They will be available for the whole school community by the end of October.
