Mr. Longo’s classroom policies
- Materials
1. Pen and #2 pencil
2. English notebook
3. Folder
4. Vocabulary text (except Seniors)
5. Appropriate text for each days lessons
6. Failure to bring any of the above will result in a deduction from the homework
grade.
- Homework
1. Homework will be checked daily
2. Homework must be completed on time
3. Extra credit assignments can replace one missed homework per quarter
- Make-up
1. You must ask, “What have I missed?”
2. You will be responsible for the class work, notes, homework, quizzes and
tests missed due to your absence.
3. Homework, quizzes, essays, and tests not completed within one cycle will
result in a zero.
- Grading
1. Tests are graded on a scale of 100 points.
2. Compositions can count as one or two test grades.
3. Quizzes are averaged together to form one test grade.
4. If there is a large number of quizzes they can be separated and averaged
as two test grades.
5. Homework grade begins each quarter at 100 points.
6. Each homework not completed in a satisfactory matter will reduce the homework
grade.
7. At the end of each quarter, all test grades will be averaged together.
8. The grade will be determined by a numerical average, which is based on
a seven point scale.
9. Each quarter is worth 20% of the final grade.
10. The Final Exam is also worth 20% of the final grade.
11. The Final grade will be determined by a numerical average.
12. Any senior who fails to submit a term paper will automatically fail for
the year.
- Cheating
1. Talking during a test or quiz is prohibited and will result in a zero and
a demerit.
2. Copying of any material will result in a zero for the work and a demerit.
3. Anyone helping or allowing anyone to cheat/copy will also receive a zero
and a demerit.
- Misc.
1. All school rules are in effect in my class.
2. Come prepared for class everyday both mentally and physically.
3. Respect me, respect your fellow students, and respect yourself.
4. Be proud of your work.
5. Enjoy learning.
